Balance

Nature vs. technology.

An immersive 45-minute multimedia experience, Balance is an exploration of the constant struggle between man and machine. Inspired by non-narrative films like Koyannisqatsi and Baraka, the work features three sections, each progressively making the focus more personal. Various visual juxtapositions could be manipulated in real-time during the performance, which would prompt the live orchestra to alter their music, creating a constantly shifting soundscape. Created for Nocturne: Art at Night, the work was seen by over 900 people during a six-hour period.
