JOSH CRUDDAS (TOM)
At age 6, Josh was the youngest radio host in Canada. Now, slightly older than 6 years old, he works as an actor, film music composer and teacher.
Josh was nominated for the ACTRA Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his starring role in the American Civil War epic Copperhead for Warner Bros alongside Peter Fonda and Jason Patric. He’s also played principal and supporting roles in TV productions including Murdoch Mysteries (CBC) Private Eyes (Global), Rookie Blue (ABC), Reign (The CW ), and Call Me Fitz (HBO). Most recently Josh worked alongside Larenz Tate in the upcoming film Business Ethics, James Franco in J.J. Abrams’ miniseries 11/22/63 for Stephen King & Fox/Hulu, and opposite Forest Whitaker and Divergent’s Theo James in the new movie How It Ends for Netflix. Next up is a recurring role on season 3 of CTV/BBC’s Cardinal.
An honours graduate of Dalhousie University’s classical acting programme, he’s played leading roles in Equity plays and musicals across Nova Scotia and Ontario. Theatre credits include musicals Oliver and The Sound of Music at Neptune, and dramatic roles at Mulgrave Road, Halifax Theatre for Young People and Ontario’s Sheatre, where the cast used improvisation to tackle difficult social issues in the lives of young people today. His work writing music for films has earned him three SOCAN Awards for Best Musical Score by a Young Canadian. His music has appeared in over 25 features and short films, including feature films for Lionsgate and Sony. His score for Lionsgate’s Battle For Skyark was nominated for ReelMusic’s Best Action/Adventure Score of 2015 alongside Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation and Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Hugh Thompson (Gerard)
Hugh Thompson's work on camera has been recognized by his peers on numerous occasions, most recently in 2014-2015 when he received nominations for the Toronto ACTRA Award and the Canadian Screen Award for the role of Smith in the television series Forgive Me. A Gemini Award winner, he also spends a fair bit of time on stage and is a two time recipient of the Robert Merritt Award. He will next be seen in the lead role of the feature Touched, to be released later this year.
Peter Allen ("Music Performed By")
Nova Scotian Peter Allen is one of Canada’s most respected and talented musicians. He is known nationally as a concert pianist, composer, conductor and teacher.
As a concert pianist, he has been heard for years on CBC regional and national radio performing solo works, concertos with orchestra, and chamber music. He continues to stay busy performing many concerts, as well as participating regularly with various music festivals and as soloist with numerous orchestras centered here in the Maritimes. He has recorded two solo CDs as well as numerous duo recordings with flautist Patricia Creighton.
As a composer, Peter has fulfilled many commissions. He has written orchestral music: Mar Atlantico; Variations on the Halifax Explosion; a Suite for Clarinet and Orchestra; and the much heralded CBC/Symphony Nova Scotia-commissioned Hurricane Juan Piano Concerto. Other works include chamber music, and for band and choir.
Peter is currently Associate Professor of Music at Dalhousie University's Fountain School of Performing Arts. He teaches piano, orchestration, and conducts the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra.
